#2 What is Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA) is known as calcification of the joints, is a chronic disease that affects the joints and bones around the joints. In the past, osteoarthritis was considered a disease of the elderly because the joints became worn or worn, but nowadays it is known through research that apart from wear, there is an inflammatory process that affects the damage to the joints, although the inflammation that occurs is not as great as other arthritis diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis .

What are the symptoms?

  1. Joint pain, especially those that support body weight, after activities using the joints, and decreases when resting.
  2. Morning stiffness after waking up is less than 30 minutes. The stiffness will get better after a while.
  3. When you move it you can hear a “crack” (crepitus).
  4. Joint motion is also limited due to pain.
