Sumariyono MD, MPH is a rheumatologist and lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. He is currently The President of Indonesian Rheumatology Association. After completing his medical education in Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University he joined internal medicine specialty program in Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. He then received his rheumatology subspecialty from Indonesian Board of Internal Medicine in 2007. Besides his formal education, he also joined several clinical courses in the field of rheumatology both in Indonesia and abroad. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree in 2016 from Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta.
He was heavily involved in clinical practice, research and teaching straight after became internist. He became medical staff and lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia and in Cipto Mangunkusumo National Referral Hospital since 2004 until present. He was invited as faculty in a lot of medical conferences. His clinical interests were inflammatory arthritis, vitamin D and autoimmune diseases.
Sumariyono MD, MPH also has a lot of managerial and organizational activities. He holds the position of Director of Human Resources and Education in Cipto Mangunkusumo National Referral Hospital from 2010-2015, and currently serves as Director of medical, nursing and hospital support of the same hospital. He is the current President of Indonesian Rheumatology Association for the second term running. With his organizational background he actively provided input and advice on governmental policies in the field of rheumatology in Indonesia. He is a member of various medical organization in Indonesia and abroad.
