Faisal Parlindungan is a rheumatologist in Rheumatology Division, Department of Internal Medicine, Medical Faculty University of Indonesia and Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital in Jakarta, Indonesia. He is a member of Indonesian Rheumatology Association.
He completed his medical doctor degree from University of Sumatera Utara, Medan, Indonesia in 2008. After that, he participated in Ministry of Health’s programme to work in a remote place in Province of Centre Celebes, where he became the head of Puskesmas (state’s primary health care centre) and dedicated his clinical expertise until 2010. Afterwards, he returned to University of Sumatera Utara to pursue a double degree in Magister of Clinical Medicine and Internal Medicine Specialist. During the specialist training, he was active doing researches and also co-authoring/co-editing several books and scientific articles. He finished the Magister of Clinical Medicine degree in 2014, and the Internal Medicine Specialist in 2015. After that, he returned to Centre Celebes to work as an internal medicine specialist and start focusing in rheumatologic cases.
In 2017, he went to University of Indonesia to do rheumatology fellowship training. He managed to contribute to several researches and case reports under the supervision of senior rheumatologists in the rheumatology division. He finished the training in 2019 and is now actively involving in clinical research and practice in rheumatology division, department of internal medicine, FKUI-RSCM.
