Dr. Cesarius Singgih Wahono, is an internist rheumatologist, working at Division of Rheumatology-Immunology, Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine University of Brawijaya, Saiful Anwar General Hospital, Malang, Indonesia.
During his internal medicine residency in University of Brawijaya, in 2000, he was awarded clinical and research fellowship at Department of Rheumatology Shanghai Second Medical University (Jiao Tong University), Shanghai China, supervised by Prof. Chen Sun Le. After graduated as an internist, he worked in several hospitals in Papua province, Indonesia from 2004-2008. Subsequently, he became a lecturer in University of Brawijaya with major in rheumatology and immunology. In 2009, he was awarded research fellowship in immunology at Department of Pathology, Vrije Universiteit/VU medisch centrum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, supervised by Dr. Marie von Blomberg and Prof. Rijk Schaeper. In 2012, he got his rheumatology brevet from Indonesia Internal Medicine Collegium, undersupervision of Prof. Handono Kalim. He got PhD degree in 2018 from University of Brawijaya.
He has been contributed to rheumatology clinical practice in Saiful Anwar Hospital and also research in University of Brawijaya under supervision of Prof. Handono Kalim and Prof. Kusworini Handono, since 2008. His major research interests are in a pathogenesis and translational resarch, and clinical research/ trials for autoimmune disease, including systemic lupus erythematosus, and also about the role of vitamin D and curcumin in systemic lupus erythematosus. He has published several original articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of Asia Pacific Lupus Collaboration and APLAR Special Interest Group on Spondyloarthropaty.
