Bagus Putu Putra Suryana obtained his Medical Doctor from Faculty of Medicine, University of Udayana, Denpasar year 1992, Internal Medicine Specialist from Brawijaya University year 2001 and Consultant in Rheumatology from Indonesia Society of Internal Medicine (PAPDI) year 2004. Completed Rheumatology and Osteoporosis Course in Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia, supported by APLAR Fellowship Program year 2001-2002.
His current activites as lecturer in Faculty of Medicine University of Brawijaya, Malang and as a medical staff in Rheumatology Division in Dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital, Malang. He is also active member of The Indonesian Society of Internal Medicine (PAPDI), Indonesian Rheumatology Association (IRA), and currently the president of Indonesian Osteoporosis Association (PEROSI).
Primary clinical and research interests are in the area of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. Participating in several international multi-center clinical trial in rheumatology. Current ongoing projects are BASE study, Osteopenia in Post-Menopausal Woman, Bone density in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Indonesia Rheumatoid Arthritis Remission Study.
